The Brad Mercer Band was formed in early 2006 by founding musician/radio personality Brad Mercer.  He met guitarist/arranger Tim Kramer at a jam session in a club called Dirty Nellie’s in Palm Desert and knew he was right for the band.  They immediately started recruiting members.  The first line-up was Tim Kramer on guitar, Gil Hansen on bass, Jay Lewis on drums, and Tony Patler on keyboards with Brad Mercer playing guitar and lead vocals.  They formed one of the best high energy classic rock cover bands in the Coachella Valley.  Well known desert entertainer and friend of Brad’s, John McCormick, gave them their first gig at “McCormick’s” in Palm Desert which has now changed hands and is called “The Hood”.

As they grew in popularity, Brad wanted to show that the band was capable of more than just playing covers so he began writing songs.  He added two more additions to the band:  His sister and vocalist Sue Lynn and longtime friend and singer Cynthia “Cy” Craig.  After a while, bassist Gil Hansen moved on to other things and was replaced by Paul Villalobos known for his great playing with the band “The Myx”.

Many other great drummers were part of the BMB at times.  James St. James – Bobby Domingez – and Alan Diaz to name a few until the band finally added David Williams.

Tony Patler went on to join Dave Mason and Stan Foreman replaced him on keyboards while Tony was on tour.

Currently the BMB plays shows when the right venue comes along.  Because of Brad’s involvement with writing and directing indie films, BMB shows are few and far between.

BMB current lineup:

  • Brad Mercer (guitar and vocals)
  • Tim Kramer (Music Director and lead guitar/vocals)
  • Tim High (bass and vocals)
  • David Williams (drums and vocals)
  • Stan Foreman (Keyboards)
