Torrey Mercer can be described as a lot of different things. A 21-year-old vocal powerhouse, budding pop songwriter, or even inspiration. But above all else, Torrey is a firecracker. She lights the stage with her energy and powerful lyrics, bringing a one-of-a-kind charisma to the stage, and a unique experience to her fans.

Making her humble beginnings in musical theater, Torrey was trained vocally in a number of different styles including pop, jazz, rock, blues, and Broadway from the young age of 9 years old. She was trained classically, and in pop music together for a number of years, giving her the unique and powerful blend of a sound that she has today. Some of her more notable performances include singing the National Anthem for the San Diego NFL Chargers in an arena of over 60,000 people, touring nationally across the East and West coast to perform and speak to thousands of kids, and performing at world-reknown venues, such as the LA “Whisky-A-Go-Go”, and the San Diego and Los Angeles “House of Blues”. Torrey first entered the pop music scene with original content at the age of 17, writing and releasing a young pop music sound that would later mature with her life experience, and vocal seasoning. Her single “Looking Glass”, released in 2012 won the Indie Music Channel Award for “Best Pop Song” in 2013, and was nominated for numerous other awards. In 2014, she was named “Best Teen Artist” by the Artists in Music Awards, and “Inspirational Artist of the Year” by Critic’s Choice. She also was named “Peacemaker of the Year” as of early 2015 by the Encinitas Rotary Club out of San Diego, California, for the humanitarian work she has always paired with her music.

Torrey’s influences come from a wide variety of backgrounds, giving her an ear for pop arrangements and sounds that are unique to her own style of music. Blending the sounds of synth pop, light rock, and elements of blues and soul, Torrey’s music has a bump to it that smacks it’s listeners in the face with sheer power. Lyrically, she writes about the things she’s struggled with in her young life, including self-esteem, body image, and negative relationships with others. Torrey uses her lyrics to provide insight and comfort to those going through what she has been through in her life, wishing to give them an outlet to release their emotions. In 2014, Torrey released two singles, “I Believe in Me“, a soulful and uplifting anthem about belieiving in yourself, and “Lies & Lipstick“, a sassy upbeat address of the negative encounters she’s had with other women. In early 2015 she released “Be Your Own Hero“, a bumping pop track about owning your power. All of these songs, in pairing with “Looking Glass” are due in 2015 for re-release with three additional tracks as her greatly anticipated debut EP, a 7-song record titled “Exhale“. Torrey is edgy, sassy, and fierce on all levels. With her powerful sound and her huge heart, Torrey Mercer has already touched the lives of thousands of young people through all that she does, and only continues to expand in her impact. Her one true goal in life is to leave her mark on the world in a lasting and positive way by reaching others, and she is already on her way.
