Garth Whisky 2014
GARTH NOYES
Garth – Dummer for Anders~Royal – a percussionist / drummer with 45 years of experience in various styles of music and arrangement. Picked up his first set of drum sticks (from my mother’s studio grand piano bench) when he was 4 yrs old and proceeded to play her piano with the drum sticks, breaking several of the custom ivory keys. After his father got home he didn’t pick up another set of drum sticks until I was 9! His mother was a concert pianist and father sang for NBC radio before it was a TV station, so he was exposed to music all of his life. Garth started with a junior drum kit at age 9 and by 13 was playing a full kit in bands, concerts and broadway musicals in local theaters. He continued to play with local rock bands, and also competed in “battle of the bands”, advancing to the semi-finals (out of 120 bands). Garth has also done studio work over the last 4 decades. Garth is currently sponsored by Guitar Center and use Tama and Gretsch (depending upon performance requirements) kits with Sabian cymbals. Garth is now reunited with Erik, from EAB and is a mainstay with Anders~Royal!

He was the bass guitar player for the Sazz Bombers (a surf instrumental band) from 2011 until 2014. Through college Dominic decided to pursue music and sound engineering for his education. Dominic graduated in 2001 with a Bachelors degree in Music with an emphasis in Audio Engineering. Adam Medina
Adam Medina
Adam – Growing up, Adam was only interested in learning how to play the guitar. His first concert was a Santana concert in ’75 when he was twelve and he was hooked. His many requests for a guitar were met by his parents signing him up for music classes at his Jr. High School. His first instrument: the clarinet. The following year, his parents broke down and bought him a “hippie” instrument: an acoustic guitar. This partially satisfied his true desire to play rock and roll but his instructor focused on classical guitar. However, things changed dramatically when his uncle showed up one day with a Gibson SG knock off and gave it to him. Eventually his parents bought him a Sears Silverstone amplifier. Lessons came next and he was able to study under Robert Ormsby who made the largest impression in his learning. Ormsby explained and taught what some of the classic artists such as Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page were doing, however he pushed him beyond simple rock tunes and encouraged him to expand and consider various styles of music. Growing up near Venice, CA exposed him to many different genres of music due to the vastly diverse community. At 14, his first band played out for the first time. The next 3 years were spent playing parties around Los Angeles. At 17, he played in his high school jazz workshop and also worked in several bands getting introduced to LA rock clubs.. In 1984, he began writing music with a singer and put together a band based on the singer’s previous work. The band,” Perfect Stranger”, went on to become a large Los Angeles draw. Playing such venues as The Whiskey, The Roxy, The Country Club, The Palace and many other venues. Eventually they worked their way up to opening up and supporting touring acts such as Tommy TwoTone, Burning Sensations, The Romantics, Gary Myrick and Pato Bantan. Many of those shows were sponsored by local radio station, KROQ. During this time, (out of frustration from terribly recorded demos), he elected to educate himself in Audio Engineering. He attended the Los Angeles Recording Workshop in Hollywood for two years. This led to his work as a Recording Engineer, working at Real Life Studios in Van Nuys, CA., recording music, commercials and low budget movie soundtracks. He also worked on live sound reinforcement. In 1991 he took a break from music that lasted much longer than he ever anticipated. With a new lucrative business in computer repairs, the music eventually died off….. Then in 2008, his old writing partner and he met up and got encouraged to return to music, even being provided with a guitar. After many starts and stops, he was finally able to settle down, purchase new equipment, and begin the long road back with massive amounts of practicing. Although frustrating at first, the music eventually came back to him, along with the joy of performing in a band and he was back. Since 2012 he’s been involved in several projects covering material playing classic rock, grunge, alternative, Country and Pop. His new project as Lead Guitarist for Anders-Royal is an exciting return to playing out in LA’s famous club scene.
