About Angélica

Combining soulful, soaring vocals, a fiery Spanish guitar, and multilingual compositions that mix her Spanish gypsy roots with American Pop/Soul, Angélica Rahe truly embodies what it means to be a “world artist.”

Having grown up traveling the world, from a young age she was able to capture how powerful music was in unifying those from all walks of life. Angélica spent her childhood between Japan and her native Spain, so it’s no surprise that this experience has influenced her sound. At 5 she was playing Flamenco with gypsies in the alleyways of Andalucía; by 14 she was writing her own songs; soon after she began to teach herself to play guitar, using old Joan Manuel Serrat, Tom Jobim, and Lightnin’ Hopkins’ records as inspiration. By the time her original song “Weakness” won the “Single of the Year” award at the Los Angeles Music Awards in 2009, she was already well on her way to achieving her dream of pursuing a life in music.

Since then she has been actively writing songs for artists like Spanish powerhouse Malú and Interscope artist Jasmine V, producing/developing artists like Gabriel Orengo (All That Is Entertainment), collaborating with Grammy-winning mega-producers like the legendary Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey) and Alex da Kid (Dr. Dre, Nicki Minaj, B.o.B.) , film composer Marcello De Franscici (Samsara), top-charting pop/urban producer JD Walker (Jason Derulo, Cher, Kylie Minogue), and Latin music hit-maker Rafael Esparza-Ruiz (Santana, Ricky Martin, Thalia). She has performed as an opening act for artists like Francisca Valenzuela and salsa legend Cecilia Noël, and has even joined artists like the Gipsy Kings’ Mario Reyes and actor/jazz pianist Jeff Goldblum on stage. She recently spent time in Mexico City as well, working with a variety of talents, including the team at the Avila brothers’ Studios, Cosmos Producciones (Thalia, Luis Fonsi, Aleks Syntek). Angélica has also composed music for the new-technology and gaming sphere – you can hear her original compositions as the soundtrack for language-learning app, Poptok, of TikToc Labs, Inc.

She is currently between Los Angeles and Miami recording her debut release – a bilingual fusion combining her Soul and Flamenco roots, inspired by her bicultural background and extensive travels, and featuring collaborations with the variety of talents she has met along the way.

“[With] pipes that are reminiscent of Alicia Keys and guitar strums that rival the veteran Gypsy Kings, Angélica Rahe is a beacon incarnate of diversity and multiculturalism.” (Darià Artiola – Digital Hippos)
