In an Orange County apartment in the fall of 2001, four young men decided to start a band and call it Barefoot Bride. Two months later, the four musicians played their first show at Hoagie Barmicheals to a group of friends and locals in the Beach City of Costa Mesa, CA. The BFB boys developed quite a local following, performing at venues such as The Galaxy Theater, Gypsy Lounge and Chain Reaction. In 2002 the band decided to take the plunge and move their operations to Hollywood. The four found a two-bedroom apartment in the heart of Tinseltown and started performing regularly at the Whisky, Roxy, Viper Room, Knitting Factory and the Lava Lounge. After developing a substantial fan base in LA, they decided to enter the studio. Barefoot Bride’s self-titled debut album, produced by Mark Renk and Jeff Kolmann, who work closely with acclaimed producer Jay Baumgardner, was released July 2004 on Big Time Records to rave reviews. Barefoot Brides influences range from Weezer, Foo Fighters, 311, and Third Eye Blind, to The Beach Boys, the Beatles, and the Cars. Dueling guitars, melodic harmonies and a solid rhythm section drive the groups sound. They have a definite pop sensibility without losing the Rock n Roll edge. Already conquering the entire southwest in the fall of 04, Barefoot Bride will continue to spread their infectious sound and hyper-kinetic stage show throughout the rest of the U.S. with a year long tour which began March 1, 2005.
