Ghanaian Hip-Hop artist Be Black (Bismark Asare) has been nominated for the ‘International Artist of the Year’ nod at the 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards. Earlier this year, Be Black was in the US to receive the nomination; and he seized the opportunity to deliver a thrilling rendition of his chart topping hit “All Level” to a cross section of spectators at the world famous Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood.

The Los Angeles Music Awards is an annual red carpet event which has been one of the premier platforms for showcasing emerging artists and bands in LA since 1991. The 20th edition of the Awards would be a global event, open to artists from all genres of music from every continent. The main ceremony would be held on Thursday, November 18 on the lot at the Paramount Theater. Be Black is nominated alongside Candyman 187 and the Havenotz (USA), Militza (Puerto Rico), Adriano Aponte( Italy), and Lace Bentley (Jamaica).

Be Black is not new to such international awards. The single ‘All Level’ won him ‘Best New CD’ award at the Grandie Music Award organized by Radio Indy in Arizona, US. Besides winning him the Gold artiste of the year, the single also topped the broadjam.com chart for four weeks.
Gregory Ihenacho, Founder and CEO of Beverly Hills- based River Naija Productions, and Catwalk Hollywood, describes Be Black as “a true son of the soil”. “We are glad to have Be Black under River Naija Productions Company. We plan to work very diligently with Be Black to successfully launch his career worldwide” comments Ihenacho.

Be Black is scheduled to show up at the Los Angeles Music Awards on November 18. His song ‘Revolution (It’s a Ghetto)’ which the CEO of River Naija Production remarks as a “masterpiece” has also been selected for the Damitow Charity record now available worldwide. He would also embark on a worldwide tour to promote the record and perform on a charity concert on December 4 in support of RAINN.ORG.
