Dolores Fuller: She had been once known as the 1950s sci-fi movie queen with appearances in some of the most famous or we should say infamous films of all time. As cult filmmaker Ed Woods sidekick and star of many of his films, Delores had a much greater passion: songwriting. In the early 1960s, a chance encounter with Elvis Presley resulted in her being given the opportunity few women of that era ever got: a shot at writing tunes for one of the most beloved superstars in American history. She went on to write 14 number hits for The King and also wrote for several other notable artists including the legendary Peggy Lee, Nat King Cole and Johnny Rivers. We are so completely honored to present this Hollywood Star for Career Achievement for Hit Songs and Film Appearances to this most gracious recipient.
