As an actress, Gina has appeared in the WWII feature film ONLY THE BRAVE opposite Jason Scott Lee (Dragon: Bruce Lee Story) as his beauty queen wife. This period piece also stars Tamlyn Tomita (Joy Luck Club) and the late Pat Morita (Karate Kid 2) in his final film. She was the lead love interest in DAY OF INDEPENDENCE, a Japanese-American internment camp film by Academy Award ® Winner, Chris Tashima and the lead in THE HOT SPOT directed by Larenz Tate.
On television, she guest-starred in the highly anticipated 2010 premiere episode opposite Alyssa Milano on the hit drama series CASTLE (ABC). Other credits include FLASHFORWARD (ABC), SHARK (CBS), QUINTUPLETS (FOX), PORT CHARLES (ABC), CITY GUYS (NBC), LUCKY (FX) to name a few. Gina studied theatre at NYU Tisch School of Drama and continues at the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles, as she prepares to start principal photography on her next film, 4-BIDDEN (2010) starring Eric Roberts.
As a singer, Gina’s National Anthem credits are massive – she has performed for the NBA and MLB – STAPLES CENTER, MADISON SQUARE GARDEN and DODGER STADIUM, which led to a solo performance in Honolulu, Hawaii for the NCAA HAWAIIAN AIRLINES DIAMONDHEAD CLASSIC on ESPN. She trained at THE JUILLIARD SCHOOL in New York and continues under vocal coach to the stars – SETH RIGGS. Her previously released music video/single in Japan, “Unmei No Ai” with a cameo by Hawaiian heartthrob, Jason Scott Lee has garnered over 100,000 hits on youtube alone.
Most recently, Gina lends her voice as a J-Pop singer in the new animated Cartoon Network series, TITAN MAXIMUM (2009), a spin-off of the hugely popular, Robot Chicken starring Seth Green and Rachel Leigh Cook. She is also the first Asian-Amerian singer to perform on the gospel show, PRAISE THE LORD on TBN (Trinity Broadcasting Network) – the only Christian performance and talk show, consisting of a billion viewers worldwide. Gina will soon be recording her debut album in the genre of Pop/Island/R&B in Hawaii.
Currently, Gina is seen worldwide in the current issue of THE PENINSULA TOKYO (2009), a 5-star hotel publication. Chosen among an elite echelon of the hottest Japanese talent today, her 12 page editorial and photo spread is among the legendary Tadanori Yokoo, Tatsuya Matsui, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and martial arts superstar, Kane Kosugi.
Gina was born and raised in Torrance, CA and is the oldest of 3 sisters. She is fluent in English/Japanese, a classically trained pianist, and was the MVP of her high school basketball team as a starting point guard in her freshman year. Gina is a devout Christian and hopes to release a gospel record in the future.
