Jeff 4 Justice

Red Carpet Interview

Producer and Artist Relations – 13th Annual LA Music Awards

Hello! I’m Jeff 4 Justice. I’m a video creator and award winning social justice activist.

Starting in 2011, within my first year as an independent vlogger (not blogger) I landed interviews with Nobel Peace Prize, Academy Award, Emmy Award, and Grammy Award nominees and winners. In 2012 my interviews were spotlighted on Good Day Sacramento. I’m the first person to get video footage of Dr. Cornel West and Goo Goo Dolls lead singer John Rzeznik on the record as being supportive of marriage equality. My exclusive original videos have been featured on major blogs Queerty, Joe.My.God., Towleroad, and more.

I have vigorously championed underdog causes since 2000 when I began advocating for the inclusion of alternative party candidates in the American electoral process.

In 2003 I founded Yuba-Sutter Unity (YSU) which was the first visible LGBTI group in my hometown Yuba-Sutter. I served as the President of the group until its ending in January 2008. Under my leadership, YSU: enabled countless LGBT people to connect with one another and develop friendships and relationships; worked with county Health Departments to promote safer sex and HIV testing; remained visible in local media with frequent newspaper, radio, and television interviews; developed relationships with nearby LGBT groups in Sacramento, Chico, Grass Valley, and Nevada City; and organized events nearly every month including potlucks, dances, movie showing fundraisers, skit shows, and the first ever Yuba-Sutter Pride Day.

While volunteering as a regional leader for Equality California from 2005 to 2007, I: called local LGBT folks urged and equipped them to call their elected officials when LGBT-relevant legislation up for vote; wrote numerous LGBT equality themed letters to the editor and commentaries; attended his elected representatives’ town hall meetings; spoke with his elected representatives and their staff about LGBT equality at the Capitol; attended rallies, and stood outside of public venues collecting marriage equality supporter signatures.

During that period, while living in Marysville, California, I also squeezed in some activism time to support other issues: the rights of an adult video store during a religious-based campaign to close it; opposition to a plan by the City Council to install red light cameras; and opposition to the City Council’s effort to shutdown nightclub Planet Rock.

I left my hometown in 2008 and move to Sacramento and San Francisco while employed with the historic Decline to Sign and NO on 8 campaigns in 2008. I recruited and trained volunteers.

My next project was producing the NO on Prop. 14 video series in 2010. In 2011, I began vlogging about my unconventional choice to live in my SUV. I then began interviewing celebrities, everyday people, and homeless people.

Also in 2011, I founded GOTBLISS (now Tri-County Diversity) which serves gays, other gender-identity minorities, transgenders, bisexuals, lesbians, the intersex, and straight supporters. The same year I directed and produced the independent online film Rainbow Above The Buttes about my hometown’s LGBT community.

Today I make videos for The Jeff 4 Justice channel on YouTube. I continue advocating for the advancement of LGBTI people and their straight supporters; the advancement of alternative political parties with a hope for emancipation from government in the long run; and I also do some homeless outreach.

My Philosophy

Shortsighted people try to get ahead in life pushing those around down beneath them.

Visionaries try to get ahead in life by trying to equip those around to rise up with them.
