MY STYLE: I crave the era of my style icons: Jackie Kennedy, Brigitte Bardot, and Coco Chanel of the late 1960s. While I draw so much inspiration from their personal style, I thrive on the differences of each woman and her individual style. Ralph Waldo Emerson brilliantly said to “insist on yourself, never imitate.” Personal style is about engaging in the creative process, one that evolves as you do, and putting your “signature touch” on each day. I always try to pair classic styles with a fresh, modernized twist. Modest, refined, and traditional meets a sophisticated and savvy sense of personal style. Style is also the way you carry yourself as a young woman; you should always be dressed head-to-toe in poise, polish, confidence, and grace (as opposed to just a designer label).
I LOVE HOUSTON BECAUSE: I am a homegrown Houstonian—born and raised in Houston, Texas! Although we may not have a true “four” seasons (we have more like two seasons), the people, the energy, and the activities are unmatched. I am so proud to be a Houstonian! We are near the beach and downtown, host to three magnificent professional sports teams, numbers of concerts, museums, theaters, parks, restaurants, and shopping. The Texas Medical Center is also right in our backyard, providing the best medical care in the world. Houston is GREAT for kids because of all the outdoor activities available to them due to the warm weather year-round. The schools, churches, neighborhoods, and families are incredible. I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else or raising our children in any other city. We are so blessed!
