2013 Recipient – Guitarist of the Year – 23rd Annual LA Music Awards
Award-winning band Solspeak is a unique eclectic blend of pop, rock and soul which was conceived in Pasadena by Julian SaintJon (lead guitar/composer) and accomplished artist Vincent Madrid (lead vocalist/lyricist).
The band is also made up of rhythm guitar/vocalist Drew Respicio, percussionist Gil “Q” Quintana, drummer/percussionist Matt Herrera and on Bass Antonio Carter. All of whom are well-seasoned musicians from all over Los Angeles.
Co-Founder Julian SaintJon was influenced by the stylings of ‘Rush’ and ‘Led Zeppelin’. He then met with visionary artist Vincent Madrid, who’s influences range from Prince to Sting and Chaka Khan, and a new hybrid sound was born…
Solspeak’s music is often described as ‘cinematic’. They strive to bring people together in a shared experience of excitement, with a soulful vibe that speaks to the heart and carries the listener a million miles away in order to see that life can be both beautiful and bittersweet. The band is always evolving, refining and perfecting their fascinating new sound with song lyrics and vocal melodies to bring positive, uplifting music to new international markets.
With over 200 stage performances on the famed ‘Sunset Strip’ to county fairs and festivals, fundraisers and benefits from LA to Sweden, Solspeak pride themselves on using their music to bring joy to their audience and raise the awareness that we are all connected, to each other and to the planet.
The band is very involved with several charities, using their music to raise money, education and awareness for the American Cancer Society and various Fire Department community events.
