Bethlehem, PA
3. What your place of birth is known for, or a cool fun fact.
It’s home to Bethlehem Steel, which was a major supplier of armor plate and ordnance products during World War I and World War II, including the manufacture of 1,100 warships. Transformers 3 was also filmed there. And Lehigh v.s. Lafayette is one of the oldest rivalries in the nation.
4. When did you start playing your instrument.
Started playing the accordion, around 3 years old. However, guitar really became my obsession in college, and then decided to give my career a chance in 2005.
5. Career Highlights
Was named, “Best Vocalist of the year” at the Los Angeles Music Awards. Got to sing/share stage with many artists I was influenced by such as Jason Mraz, Gavin DeGraw and David Gray.
6. Fun fact about you, outside of music.
I’m into video/board games. Catan/Scattegories/Munchkin, etc. Love trying to be the knight in shining armor that starts off in boxers and a club and works his way into holy armor and excalibur! (usually trying to rescue some princess, sheesh!)
7. Why will this album be different from the others.
This album is different in many ways. Having a song written is great, but making the concept come to life is the beauty of the creative process. Having, Mikal, as our music producer is definitely a breath of fresh air for this project, because he not only pushes all of us to be at the top of our game, but he adds his vision and compliments the concept of the EP. Plus, the chemistry of the band continues to grow, and it will show on the new material!!
Erick Macek is a feel good mash up of Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson with a hint of swagger from John Mayer and G-Love with the vocal tenderness of James Taylor. Macek’s mix of catchy riffs, live performance energy and his crystal voice will have you singing his songs in no time!

Erick Maceks high-energy performances get people out of their seats and dancing to his melodic grooves. He has performed with Jason Mraz, G-Love, Tristan Prettyman, Joan Jett, David Gray and many more. A regular performer at Sundance Film Festival, he has appeared at the Academy Awards Lounge and SXSW. Macek also won 25k being honored “Best Band” at Musicpalooza, “Best Male Vocalist of the Year” at the Los Angeles Music Awards” among many other nominations and accolades. Macek travels the globe touring the 50 states and makes frequent stops in Asia and Europe. His current album, Colors May Change, debuted at #41 on the iTunes charts and was named a top 5 indie album for 2011 by the Los Angeles Examiner.
