Born in Kassel, Germany in 1961, Martin grew up in a bilingual household, his father being an American Army Sergeant and his mother Renate a German homemaker.

An army brat, born in Kassel, Germany, Martin grew up listening to bands like Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Kansas, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Jackson Browne, Led Zeppelin and Steely Dan and a little of each style has found its way into his writing and performing.
Martin moved to Homestead, Florida at the age of 6, which is why you can’t hear a German accent when he sings, although through being brought up in a bi-lingual household has helped him retain his ability to sing in both languages.

In 1970 Martin entered the Albert Schweitzer Schule (College) from which he graduated in 1981, majoring in English and Political Science. He then moved on to take up classes in an Economic School from which he graduated in 1983, majoring in Business English and Social Economics.
1986-1992

He moved to Munich, Bavaria, and worked as a Forwarding Agent and in 1989 received his European Customs Broker license.

Martin worked as an import-export consultant at Munich Airport for 2 years, during which time he began becoming more involved in his passion – music. He quickly became a much sought after commercial singer and composer in the European Music Industry, and lent his voice to blockbusters such as Fletch, Top Gun and Beverly Hills Cop. Working with Grammy winner and ueber-producer Harold Faltermeyer, Martin’s distinctive voice became recognizable as the sound of Burger King, Lufthansa and BMW. After conquering the commercial market, Martin felt compelled to give the American music industry a try.

Living in Munich, Germany, Martin met up with “Beverly Hills Cop” famed producer Harold Faltermeyer in 1989 and started working on his first professional demos of songs with co-writer Gerry Wallner. During this period he also recorded a song for the movie “Fletch Lives” starring Chevy Chase, entitled “Kings of The Road”.
In 1991 he met his wife, British born Ruth McCartney, in Munich in 1991, and together they discovered the U.S. by spending 3 weeks in Los Angeles on vacation. After immigrating in 1992, Martin worked at first for the Euro-Television Network RTL’s Los Angeles office. He also continued writing and recording music, jingles and station IDs for the European radio and TV markets, where he is still the voice of over 40 radio stations’ jingle IDs.
1992-1994

Martin immigrated to the United States in late 1992 and made his home in Los Angeles, California with partner Ruth McCartney. During this time he worked on his first collection of musical works called: “Geist Musik” which featured the single: “Rain Dance”. Backed by Phantom Records and independent little label out of Hawaii, he recorded his version of the German standard “Lili Marlene” which he had co-written with Gerry Wallner years back in Munich Germany.
Trying to stay alive financially he worked for RTL Television Germany in their Los Angeles office for Peter Trunk as assistant to the “The Hollywood Reporter”.
1994-1997

After the Northridge earthquake in 1994, Ruth and Martin moved to Nashville, TN to write for one of the fastest growing music publishing markets. During their 3 years in Nashville, Ruth and Martin founded McCartney Multimedia, Inc. creating and publishing websites, first for themselves and subsequently for artists and small businesses.
1997- Present

In 1997 they again relocated to Playa Del Rey, CA where McCartney Multimedia, Inc. is now headquartered.
