Monica Beal: Female Singer Songwriter of the Year 2014 Phoenix Music Awards
Monica was born in Los Angeles and raised in Glendale, Arizona. She fell in love with the piano at the age of 8.
At 16, she wrote her first film music composition, Echoes of Lemuria, and that original work gained her entrance into Boston University’s prestigious Tanglewood Music Institute where she focused on developing her music composition skills.
During her 20’s, as a struggling singer/songwriter trying to catch that “big break” before social media was around, Monica left part of her heart in New York City, and returned to her hometown to finish her college degree at Arizona State University. Music gradually became a pursuit of personal fulfillment rather than a career endeavor.
Now a happily married wife and mommy to two beautiful children, Monica is combining her passion of creating original works for the piano along with showcasing her vocal talent in a new contemporary folk album, Little Lullabies, which has been nominated for Americana Album of the Year for the upcoming 2014 L.A. Music Awards. Little Lullabies is now available for digital download through CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon mp3.
Monica’s songwriting is organically driven with a minimalist approach in an attempt to capture the listener’s attention to the beauty of simple melodies and heartfelt lyrics.
