“At age 10, I was really into The Monkeys until one day my mother ceremoniously passed on to me all her original Beatles LPs. I think this was her way to musically educate me and to save me from the copycats. Needless to say, my life was changed forever” remarks Raymy Krumrei, a singer, worship leader and lover of all things related to songwriting. This epiphany solidified his destiny forever. This is when he began to write songs for the first time, and to understand that there was a craft to it.
Raymy spent time in college as a voice and composition major. He soon found himself as director of marketing for JVC Music and Triloka Records. It was during this time that he composed the title track for Marc Johnson’s “Daydream” CD as well as executive producing Paul Hardcastle’s greatest hits, “Cover to Cover.”
Raymy is best known as the lead singer of the L.A. rock quintet, Golden Ticket. which proved to be a great place to hone his songwriting chops along with fellow band mate and co-writer Andrew Morrison and to learn a great deal about performance. It was also the reason that Raymy took the L.A. music award for “best male vocalist” and secured songwriting awards or honorable mentions in several competitions, including the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
After releasing their opus, “Imaginary Stars” (available on iTunes,) Golden Ticket decided to call it quits. At this time Raymy began to find other places to put his creative energy. These included writing country songs with Andrew Morrison for which they secured a small Nashville publishing deal and several years with the Academy of New Musical Theatre where he composed the score for a full length musical version of Cleopatra. He also appeared as a finalist on Gospel Dream 2006, a nationally televised singing competition. His most important role however involves his involvement at Lancaster Evangelical Free Church where he serves as Music Minister/Worship Leader.
