“Addictions & Scars” is the follow-up to their first Internet only CD “Emotional Blur”. Red Delicious spent 3 years trying to perfect a collection of songs to release as their official 1st retail CD. Lead Singer Sara Wallace floats through the songs with her beautiful and provocative vocal sound taking the listener on a journey through every imaginable thought provoking innervations. Producers and band mates Rob King & Steve Baca lay down a foundation of musical bliss from heavy guitars and infectious drum grooves to serene pads and orchestral strings. Co-Producer Chris Vrenna (NIN, Tweaker) added his touch to more than half the CD and laid down some raw powerful drumming on a few songs on “Addictions & Scars”. The CD was mixed in Ocean Way Studios in Hollywood by world renowned mixer Jack Joseph Puig, known for his ability to merge the sounds of the past three decades to create something that is thoroughly modern, Jack Joseph Puig has produced hits for the Verve Pipe (“Freshmen”), The Black Crows (“Good Friday”), No Doubt and John Mayer among others. Classical pianist and composer Paul Romero also contributed some amazing string arrangements to the recordings. Red Delicious has delivered a collection of songs that simply can’t be denied. With their unique blend of alternative rock, with acoustic and electronic influences, their songs are guitar and melody driven, sultry and laden with hooks, yielding a sound all their own.
Red Delicious was on the music scene in early 2000. In the year 2000 they also received the Yahoo Internet Life Music Award for “Best Unsigned Band”. This three-piece band from Pasadena, California consists of the production team of Rob King and Steven Baca (AKA King & Little Steven) and vocalist Sara Wallace. They have also produced and re-mixed tracks for Donna Summer, Lou Bega, David Gordon and Walt Disney Records; in addition, they had a Top 10 hit in Taiwan on EMI Records with Gigi Leung’s “Short Hair”. Rob has also contributed keyboards and engineered the strings for Producer Chris Vrenna’s (Tweaker, NIN) Remix of Cold’s “Stupid Girl”(Interscope) released in April 2003.
Steve Baca was the guitar player and primary songwriter for Vanity Kills, which released an album through Hollywood Records in the early 90’s. Rob King has been engineering and producing for the past 10 years, working with several different bands including Elektra’s Moonpools & Caterpillars. He has also produced music and sound for over 50 popular CD Rom titles including Sony’s Everquest Series. Sara Wallace met Rob in 1996 while recording and producing a track with her band Starblind for the Dewdrops Records compilation, “Splashed With Many A Speck”. Sara has also appeared with Interfaith on their single “Blood On Mars”, released early in 1998. Sara also contributed vocals on the yet to be released Violet UK CD produced by the famed Japanese Producer & Songwriter Yoshiki (X-Japan). The song was also featured in a 7-11 commercial entitled “Fashion Show” released in Japan.
