Richard is an award-winning singer/songwriter/producer who has released 11 CD’s of original music to date. He is best known for the Richard Walton Group; formed in 1990 in support of the release of his 2nd CD “Out Of Bounds” (partially produced by founding Crack The Sky guitarist Rick Witkowski). In 2015, Richard Walton Group released an anticipated new studio CD, “Under The Current”. The group, one of the first in the Mid-Atlantic area in the genre of smooth jazz, currently has released 5 CD’s and gained national airplay. He also is a founding member of the contemporary Christian trio Straight On Red, who released it’s debut CD in 2008. Over the past 10 years, Richard also has been an intregal part of many worship teams in Howard County. He also works as a solo artist, as well as in different musical situations over the years with Three’s A Crowd, Legal Tender, Rich & Famous, Straight On Red, Tuckahoe Road, FOG, Rich & Infamous, The Release, Eyelevel, ….and you’ve seen him subbing with bands: Chalk Dust, Rearview Mirror, Release, etc…His 10th and latest solo CD “Cover Me” is a 15 song journey through the past…covering songs by Van Morrison, America, Poco, Stevie Wonder, Badfinger, Tommy Bolin, Bread, etc….
