Well, the name speaks for itself. This will be a free “one stop” web site for all fans of rock music, social networking with a focus on the southern California live rock’n’roll scene. The initial emphasis is on shows in the greater Los Angeles area.
This is a preliminary “straw man” of a website that will include many more features including “12 steps” to feed the cravings of all rockaholicz:
Direct uploads and links for user-created photos, videos, and audio from rock show experiences (including web and radio simulcasts, as well as historical audio tracks) — including contests for the best postings based on fan votes. Posted media and links will be tagged to facilitate advanced searches by artist, venue, date, genre, etc.;
SoCal concert calendar and ROCKAHOLICZ “street team”;
Tour dates, venue websites and seating charts, setlists, reviews;
Fan club sites and music industry/band news;
Links for ticket sources from primary sellers, box offices, resellers, auction sites, private parties, and peer-to-peer listings;
Links for lyrics, discography, album art, official and unofficial band websites, musician biographies;
Social networking based on selected genres of interest, including tagging capability, discussion groups, chat features, and downloads of posted media where permission has been given;
Song and ringtone downloads;
Links for chart and album/track sale statistics;
Links for band and concert merchandise (historical, clothing, rare vinyl) including rock t-shirts; and,
Fee-based editing services for photo, video, and audio; and,
Streaming internet radio and links for local rock/pop radio stations.
We hope to make ROCKAHOLICZ.COM your focal point for everything related to live rock ‘n’ roll! So, stay tuned for an anticipated roll out of the initial site in the near future. A professional web design firm has been retained to put this all together for us. In the meantime, we would love to hear from you, the fans! Please tell us what you think about our proposed content and links, and anything else you would like to see. We want the site to be as useful and fun to use as possible. NOTE: This current site is a simple “placeholder” and, as such, the posted video links do not include HD functionality, and posted audio, videos and pictures are not presently tagged to allow searches based on key words.
