Another rarity!! The debut demo from the fantastic soulful melodic/AOR-metal bandSTILLETTO (note: on this demo the band’s name is spelled with two “l’s” but the band is also known as “Stiletto”). This demowas released in the early ’90s (not sure the exact date) and features the absolutely brilliant, incredibly soulful vocal talents of Debby Holiday who was previously a chart-topping dance/R&B singer who turned to hard rock and formed this band in the early ’90s (Debby also sang for BADLANDS on a UK tour when original vocalist Ray Gillen was ill. Full bio on Debby below…). I believe an earlier version (or later version?) of this band also featured former Megadeth guitarist Jeff Young. This 4-song demo features brilliant melodic hard rockin’ tracks in the vein of a lighterLita Ford, Saraya,Vixen, Femme Fatale and ’70s hard-rock/R&B legends Mother’s Finest.(the ’80s female singer, NOT Fiona Apple).

Bio on Debby:Debby Holiday broke onto the dance scene with her 5 Billboard summer anthem Dive in 2004. Holiday followed the smash hit Dive with her power ballad Half A Mile Away, which shot into the Billboard Top 10, along with Debby’s follow-up dance hit Bring It On. Her next 2 dance singles, Piece of My Love & Surrender Me (with the incredible Tony Moran) also broke the top 10! Her latest project, Joyful Sound (*Nebula 9 Records), resonates of 90’s divas and modern sounds. Featured in this season’s hit LOGO show Sordid Lives: The Series, from writer/director/producer Del Shores, starring Olivia Newton John.
Debby Holiday’s other recent projects include singing the title track to Courteney Cox’s FX Network television series Dirt, a role in a national Sprint television commercial, and looping on the musical Dreamgirls. Debby continues to pump up the volume — on the dance floors, live with her rock/soul band, and on television, with several recent placements including NBC’s The Office, FX Networks Dirt, Showtime’s hit The L Word and MTV’s the Pick Up Artist. Queer As Folk another Showtime hit, used two of Debby’s tracks including “Dive” & “Half A Mile Away” in their episodic finale. ….
Debby Holiday has shared the stage with legendary recording artists like John Waite and Rod Stewart, appearing on several television programs including The View, The Rosie O’Donnel Show and The David Letterman Show. During her career, Debby has toured and opened for rock superstars including Joe Walsh, Rod Stewart and Kiss.
