2011 Nominee – Country ArtistĀ of the Year (Chris P. Ellis Award) – 21stĀ Annual LA Music Awards

Terry Hanson was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN. He started playing drums at the age of 3. Terry picked up the guitar in his late teens. A short time later Terry moved to California where he became a regular on the Bakersfield and Los Angeles country music scene. Terry has toured over 20 countries with the DOD/USO, performing for our troops in remote regions of the world, including Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Quantanamo Bay, Italy and Spain. Terry Hanson received international attention when director Tony Scott picked up one of Terry’s original songs off a demo tape and used it in his movie “Crimson Tide” starring Denzel Washington & Gene Hackman. Terry’s songs can also be heard in a number of outdoor adventure films including “Masters Of Stone” (Hard Rock) and “Extreme Skiiing 5″. Terry was runner-up finalist out of over 5000 participants in the Willie Nelson Farm Aid songwriting competition. Terry has received the Bakersfield Country Music Award of Recognition. In addition Terry has received the Certificate of Appreciation from the United States Air Force and the Armed Forces Entertainment Agency. And most recently (2011) Terry was nominated for “Best Country Song” by the Hollywood Music In Media Awards and “Country Music Artist Of The Year” by The Los Angeles Music Awards. Terry Hanson has opened shows for such artists as Sheryl Crow, Wade Hayes, Heather Myles, The Derailers & The Blasters. Terry has also performed private party’s for some of the major Hollywood Studios including a Hollywood Blvd performance for the DVD release of “Wild Hogs” starring John Travolta and Tim Allen for Touchstone Pictures. After years of traveling and playing countless shows all over the world, Terry Hanson’s debut CD entitled “California Whiskey” was released to retail outlets and online stores on March 11th, 2011. Terry currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
