With recent features and premieres on Buzzbands LA, Free Bike Valet Magazine, The Deli Magazine, Polari UK, Impose Magazine and FourCulture Magazine naming them as one of the Best Artist of 2014, there’s expectation being build around the duo’s second album “Don’t Count On Me”, to be released on February 2015.

The Los Angeles electronic art-pop duo The Controversy invites you on a journey through intricate electronic beats, psychedelic ambiance and unusual pop melodies. With recent features and premieres on Buzzbands LA, Free Bike Valet Magazine, The Deli Magazine, Polari UK, Impose Magazine and FourCulture Magazine naming them as one of the Best Artist of 2014, there’s expectation being build around the duo’s second album “Don’t Count On Me”, to be released on February 2015.

Originally from Spain and Denmark, The Controversy’s sound is influenced by artists like St Vincent, Beck, Air, Miike Snow, Portishead, Bjork and Massive Attack and has been described as a “seamless mash up of electronica with psychedelic rock”. The Controversy has released two singles (“Queen of Chinatown” and “Two Voices”) from their upcoming second album and will release a third one, “You Know” on January 12th.

The Controversy’s first album “Real” won them the title of “Artist of the Year 2012″ at Artists In Music Awards and “Best Alternative Song of 2012″ at Hollywood Music in Media Awards for their single “Real” and has received critical acclaimed reviews, describing it as “stunning”, “off the hook”, “rich songs with powerful lyrics and musical serenity”, “moving and captivating”, “refreshing change from the overproduced pop” and “unique, powerfully emotional, honest and ethereal”.

The Controversy also writes music for film, TV and video games and some of their credits include a song placement in the TV show “The Bridge”, the creation and production of the theme song for the Sundance Film Festival Winner Director Amin Matalqa’s feature film “Strangely In Love”, the theme song for the video game “Monaco” “Can’t Resist” in collaboration with Grammy nominee composer Austin Wintory and the theme song for the feature film “Last Flight” in collaboration with the award winner composer Garry Schyman among others. The Controversy has also been sponsored as SONY’s best independent bands of Los Angeles.
