NAMED 2010 ROCK ARTIST OF THE YEAR!

Hollywood, CA, October 8, 2010 – The numbers for the Los Angeles Music
Awards are staggering! During a 20 year history for the red carpet award
show, organizers have honored thousands of independent and emerging
artists from around the globe, selected from nearly 1 million submissions by
musicians from every continent, looking to use the LAMA’s to launch their
careers in the music industry. And the names associated with this long
running production reads like a who’s who of rock stars…Paula Abdul,
Jackson Browne, Korn, Sugar Ray, Black Eyed Peas, System of A Down, 311,
and Gwen Stefani with No Doubt, to name a few. And now, you can add a
teenage rock band, from Northern California called THE LOST BOYS, to that
list!
On a warm October 7th evening on Hollywood’s legendary sunset strip,
Founder and Executive Producer of the Los Angeles Music Awards, Al
Bowman, took the stage at the iconic Whisky A Go Go music venue, during his
sold out LAMA Voter’s Party and announced “This year we’ve had more than
11,000 artist submissions, to the LA Music Awards, with 130 of those artists
receiving nominations for the 26 artist categories. Out of those 130
nominees, we are here to honor the very best of the best…and are proud to
announce, that the Los Angeles Music Awards, 2010 ROCK ARTIST of the
YEAR award, goes to THE LOST BOYS, from Lake County, California!!
The Los Angeles Music Awards also announced that The Lost Boys will be
returning to Hollywood to accept their award at the 20th annual LOS ANGELES
MUSIC AWARDS SHOW on Thursday, November 18th, 2010 at the Paramount
Theatre, where they will open the historic event, with a 2 song LIVE
performance.
The emerging teenage rock band can add this to their growing collection of
awards and accolades. In February, The D.I.Y. Music Festival, named The
Lost Boys as their 2010 Independent Artist of the Year, at a Hollywood dinner
held in their honor and recently they were voted Pop/Rock New Artist of the
Year, and Best Live Performance of the Year, in a 2010 Voter’s Poll by
USA4real upstream radio artists and listeners, worldwide.
The Northern California quintet are currently touring in support of their new
album, “Running Red Lights” in stores now. The record is produced by MultiPlatinum,
Multi-Grammy Award Winning producer, David Kershenbaum/Music
Pros Hollywood, who has enjoyed a career of successes with artists such as
Janet Jackson, Bryan Adams, Supertramp, Kenny Loggins, Duran Duran, and
Tracy Chapman. The album also features mixes by Multi-Platinum, MultiGrammy
Award winner Mike Shipley, whose chart topping history includes
songs by Nickelback, Green Day, Maroon 5, Aerosmith, and AC/DC. The Lost
Boys project is spearheaded by long time Konocti Presents… President and
CEO, Greg Bennett, and his management company, Bennett Entertainment

The Lost Boys have toured extensively since 2009, playing over 100 shows
including headlining performances during their current “Why Not Now…” Tour
2010 at the Orion Music Festival in Park City, Utah, Rock the Ink Festival in
Ontario, CA., and the Vancouver Island Music Conference, in Vancouver,
Canada. The band has also appeared as Special Guests with 20 national
headliners, including 3 Doors Down, All-American Rejects, Kelly Clarkson,
Journey, and Toby Keith. Their upcoming tour itinerary includes 5 shows at
“Indie Week Toronto”, with scheduled showcases at South by Southwest
Music Conference in Austin, Texas, the Indie Music Fest in Las Vegas, NV and
a return to Toronto to play the Canadian Music Fest in 2011!
