BURLINGTON, VT November 6, 2000 – The Big Heavy World record label will release the ’10th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards 2000 Sonic Sampler’ CD. The 17-track promotional compilation features music from nominees of this year’s Los Angeles Music Awards event.

The CD represents many Los Angeles-area sounds including aggressive alternative fare from the uncompromising lyricist SAINT EVE, wry and melodic country from RAVEN WYLDER, and the ground-breaking industrial metal of CARBON 9. Big Heavy World recording artists CHAINSAWS AND CHILDREN and CHIN HO! bring destabilizing east coast tech-core and irresistible all-American pop to the project. Other artists appearing on the CD include PI GAMMA, LISA LASHAWN, DARREN FALCONE & THUNDERBOX, BEYOND CONTROL, VENESA, PAUL OSCHER, JENNA MUSIC, JARED DOUGLAS, BURNING CANDLES, UNDERCRUSH, THE PUSH, and the CLAYTON-HAMILTON JAZZ ORCHESTRA.

THE LOS ANGELES MUSIC AWARDS recognizes and honors regional and national grassroots music communities during a yearly entertainment blowout of live performances and celebrity award presenters drawn from music, motion pictures, television and radio. The event was founded in 1991 by music journalist Alfred C. Bowman to bring attention to the Los Angeles regional music scene by giving merit and recognition to bands, musicians and other individuals for accomplishments and contributions within their industry.

The CD will be distributed to attendees of the Los Angeles Music Awards, November 21, 2000 at the Beverly Hilton, Los Angeles, California, commencing 6:30pm.
