Zen Boogie

Live Performance

2010 Nominee – Jazz Artist of the Year – 20th Annual LA Music Awards

>>>>>Zen Boogie is a band built around the music of Los Angeles born and bred Robert Linden, and the music that inspires his music. His styles and influences are eclectic – from the blues of Janis Joplin and Otis Redding to the pop of Carole King and James Taylor, the folk of Dan Fogelberg, the rock of Robbie Robertson and The Beatles, the fusion of Steely Dan and even the standards of Rodgers and Hart. Robert’s music is tuneful and catchy (and danceable to boot!)

>>>>>Zen Boogie received rave reviews for their first album, “Beginnings – The Early Live Recordings” and is working on the band’s second and what will be their first studio-recorded album.

>>>>>In addition, they received the Malibu Music Award for “Best Jazz Ensemble” in 2009, and was recently nominated for the Los Angeles Music Award in Jazz. They were one of the featured bands in both the 2011 and 2012 Los Angeles Marathon. Robert’s song “Too Hip For The Room” has won numerous song and songwriting awards for Robert.

>>>>>The band also features Bob Helfant (guitar), Doug Snyder (Bass), Bob Girnius (Drums) and Larry O. Williams (Sax). Robert leads the band with his energetic style and his sardonic story-telling… always keeping the crowd locked in tight!
