| The
19th annual Los Angeles Music Awards are proud to
announce the addition The Michael Smith Band on our
main event stage along with his sponsor Broken Angel
Ltd. This will be his fifth appearance on our stage.
He last appeared at the 2007 Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards
event at the Whisky A Go-Go. Mike Smith is a tremendous
supporter of the Los Angeles Music Awards since it
began in 1991.
In other news, the Los Angeles Music Awards will
be welcoming 20 artist recipients from Phoenix, Arizona
as they consolidate the 2009 Phoenix Music Awards
presentations into the main event format at the Music
Box. Currently, the LA Music Awards have invitations
extended to the state of Texas Convention and Visitors
Bureau for a similar presentation for artists from
that state. Says Al Bowman, Founder and Executive
Producer of the Los Angeles Music Awards: "This
year we have had to reinvent our presentations schedule
for the main event. We are doing this to make up for
the fact that so many of the artists we would like
to perform on our stage cannot seem to manage to sell
themselves to sponsors. Sponsors who can then take
advantage of the huge media opportunity we represent.
We may just end up with only five sponsored acts on
our bill with the rest of the available stage time
going to participating states who provide us with
a
"Best Of" list of attendee recipients from
around the nation. This might actually be a good thing.
We will be promoting tourism both in and out of LA.
We are excited about this new angle for involving
a much larger pool of independent artists and bands.,"
concluded Bowman.
The 19th annual Los Angeles Music Awards are a hybrid
event that provides a format that combines the best
of independent artists with major celebrity achievers.
