Q: What happened to the LA Music Awards in 2007?
A: An attempt was made by three board members to undermine and take over the operational side of the LA Music Awards by using threats, intimidation and bullying tactics. These methods instituted by our former CEO, resulted in a lawsuit which helped me get the company back in my control.
Q: Where do things stand for 2008?
A: In 2008, we are combining the formats of the Hollywood F.A.M.E. Awards with the LA Music Awards into one super event. That means that the artists who participate this year will have the added advantage of getting to network and schmoooze with heavyweights from the motion picture industry, television, radio and journalism.
Q: How does the submission process work now?
A: We have two ways to submit music for this year. The first is for artists and bands to send their actual CD and press kit to our LA business address listed on this web site. The other is for artists to submit on-line through Sonic Bids. Just click on the link attached to our home page and it will tell you what to do.
Q: What does the future hold for this organization?
A: Things look good for this year and beyond. Our membership in the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce combined with our strong ties to the celebrity community will enable us to succeed for years to come. Plus, we are now in the process of getting a television sponsor that will enable us to get this event aired on local television in Los Angeles. Once we get that done, we will be able to TiVO it and re-broadcast it over and over on You Tube, My Space and our own web sites on a continual basis. This will serve both the artists and sponsors very well.
