Dateline: Los Angeles, CA - In a development that was not unexpected, the remaining members of the board of directors of LA Entertainment Works Inc. have resigned. It started with company president Jim DeCicco who left the company in early January. His resignation was followed by CEO Ken Hollowell and then board member Marcus Barcroft. The company has been returned to it's founder, executive producer Al Bowman.
After seven court appearances and a change of legal counsel by Bowman, the case was settled on January 25th when the licensing agreement signed by Jim DeCicco last year expired. That agreement, along with a consulting agreement with Hollowell, both went unpaid, leaving Bowman all alone to take back the company.
" It's a good thing for the music community to have this back in my hands," says Bowman, now in his 18th year as event producer. "I still cannot understand what the motivation was for the takeover in the first place. None of the board members who attempted this takeover had any standing in the community. The only positive thing that came out of this whole debacle was that the 17th annual event was held successfully," concluded Bowman.
The 18th annual event is now scheduled for Thursday, November 20th
at it's permanent home, the beautiful Music Box Theater in Hollywood.
